Tomi

Uno, my child

To Uno — my fourth godchild,

May God be with you always. Pray for me to always seek wisdom and for peace in the midst of all the chaos in the world.

May you find this post in good health, mind, and spirit.

I have written this post in a letter, a day before you were baptized in the Catholic Church. It is my request to tell your mother to hand it to you at the age of your Confirmation. If you read this blog (which is unlikely) or that letter first, it doesn’t matter.

Nevertheless, I welcome you with great utter joy and the hopes that we would personally see each other again.

As your godfather, I am prepared (and responsible) to pass down the knowledge and wisdom beyond parental guidance — in prayer, work, joys, and stories of sorrow. Should there be any wisdom incurred in the last 30 years of so before you were born, I hope that it would serve you well in your time. Even if that wisdom is only a day’s worth.

If you ever wish to contact me, don’t be shy. Just ask your mom. I hope we stay in touch through the years.

We'll be keeping you and your family in mind, always.

Love,
Ninong
